EUROPEAN FLYBOARD CHAMPIONSHIP – SONNIE BEAN WINS & FINAL RANKING
During the 10th, 11th and 12th June, the city of Cavalaire-sur-Mer hosted the first Flyboard® European competition where the best international riders competed.
British rider Sonnie Bean won the European Champion Pro category title, New Zealand riders Gemma Weston won the Ladies category and Korean Yang Dongwon won the veterans category and we congratulate all of them !
Zapata Racing thanks the city of Cavalaire-Sur-Mer for its support since the beginning of the Flyboard® adventure : After hosting the first event of the “Flyboard® Family” in 2012 and established the world record for the largest gathering of Flyboard® riders in 2015, this first European championship edition brought together 42 riders from around the world.
Participants showed the extent of possible tricks during their freestyle battles and were judged by a jury of five professionals who assigned a score based on the following criteria: Technique, Show, Diversity, amplituide and Energy in the performance figures.
“This edition was full of surprises: Some riders still unknown impressed us and those we already knew continued to impress with a higher level,” commented one of the judges.
